Developed for the Active Hunt

A silencer’s most important requirement, when used for hunting, is a suppression of the muzzle blast as effective as possible, thus protecting the hearing of man and dog.

We developed our ERA®SILENCER with the objective to achieve an optimal suppression while offering a compact and light-weight design, full Magnum compliance and a long service life.

All suppressors of the SOB series feature an over-barrel design, meaning one part of the silencer extends backwards from the muzzle and around the barrel. This reduces the net length, yet allows for very good suppression values. In addition, the first round pop common in other silencers has been reduced to an absolute minimum. Recoil and muzzle flash are considerably decreased as well.

Our ERA®SILENCERs are easily disassembled. The threaded bushing is exchangeable, hence facilitating the suppressor‘s usage with other rifles of the same caliber, but with a different muzzle thread.

All ERA®SILENCER are also available with the ERA®LOC quick release or can be retrofitted. It allows the silencer to be set up and released quickly and easily with just a short 60° turn. A major relief for the active hunter.

The supplied barrel bushing attaches to the breech end of the over-barrel silencer. This bushing protects the silencer in general and the muzzle thread from lateral forces in particular, and prevents the ingress of dirt and snow.

The surface structure guarantees significantly less powder residue adhering to the silencer’s interior. Transverse grooves milled on the outer tube offer sufficient grip for the installation and removal while also helping the silencer cool down faster.

The step-like design protects the seals during disassembly so they will not be exposed to any powder residue in the outer tube. The surface coating acc. to MIL-SPEC MIL-A-8625F Type III meets the highest requirements on hardness and corrosion resistance.

Offering numerous advantages, our ERA®SILENCERs are excellently equipped for the everyday hunting use for a long time.

A Dozen Reasons for ERA®SILENCER

A Dozen Reasons for ERA®SILENCER

High Suppression
Up to 32 dB (Caliber .308 Win.)*

Low Weight
326g and up (SOB 3D incl. ERA®LOC)

Short Net Length due to Over-Barrel Design
The firearm’s balance and handling characteristics are affected less.

Surface Coating acc. to MIL-SPEC
Meets the highest requirements on hardness and corrosion resistance.

Minor Muzzle Flash
The muzzle flash is almost completely redirected into the silencer’s interior, thus substantially reducing the glare affecting the shooter.

Reduced Recoil
The great number of baffles considerably reduces the recoil.

MAGNUM Compliance
High-grade aluminum alloys and a solid wall thickness allow the use of Magnum calibers.

Step Geometry - Diminished Wear of Seals
The step-like design of the ERA®SILENCERs eliminates damage to the seals.

Minimized First Round Pop
The silencer’s custom-built baffle component reduces the first round pop to a minimum.

Exchangeable Threaded Bushing
An exchangeable threaded bushing facilitates the ERA®SILENCERs use on various rifles of the same caliber with different muzzle threads.

ERA®LOC Quick Release
All ERA®SILENCERs are available with optional ERA®LOC quick release.

Suited for Shooting Gallery
Our new ERA®SILENCER SOB 2S features a baffle component made from stainless steel and is suited for shooting galleries.

*Determined by DEVA

Good to Know:

The stated suppression values were determined in caliber .308 Win. through independent test series acc. to MIL-STD 1474D conducted by DEVA (German Research Center for Hunting and Sporting Arms). This method has the measuring microphone set up at a distance of 1 meter and 90° to the left of the muzzle.

It is essential to note the following:

The ERA®SILENCERs are designed for hunting use in the field. They are not intended to be utilized for close succession shooting series, like e.g. in a shooting gallery. After a series of 10 shots maximum, the suppressor needs to cool down enough so it can be touched with bare hands. This does not apply to our hybrid silencer SOB2S.
